Services
Six areas of work
We build software and we advise on it. The services below are listed separately, but most engagements combine two or three of them: an application needs a back end and a cloud environment, a migration needs an architecture review, and an advisory question often ends in something being built.
01
iOS & Android App Development
We design and build mobile applications end to end: product definition, interface design, implementation, App Store and Google Play submission, and the maintenance that every shipped app needs afterwards. We publish our own apps on the App Store, so the release process, review guidelines and platform changes are part of our routine rather than something we look up when a client asks.
Typical engagements
- A new consumer or business app, taken from idea to a published release
- A companion app for an existing web product or hardware device
- A macOS utility or menu bar application
- Taking over an existing codebase that needs stabilising, modernising or finishing
What you receive
- Source code in a repository you own, with build and release documentation
- Store listings, screenshots and metadata prepared for submission
- A maintenance plan covering OS updates, dependency changes and store reviews
02
Custom Software Development
Some problems are not solved by an off-the-shelf product. We build the software that fills the gap: APIs and back-end services behind mobile and web applications, internal tools that replace spreadsheets and manual steps, and integrations between systems that were never designed to talk to each other. Scope is agreed in writing before work begins, and the result is delivered so that your team can run and extend it.
Typical engagements
- A back-end service and API for a mobile or web application
- An internal tool for operations, reporting or data entry
- Integration between a line-of-business system and a third-party service
- Automating a manual process that has outgrown spreadsheets and email
What you receive
- A written specification agreed before implementation starts
- Source code, automated tests and deployment configuration
- Operational documentation and a handover session for your team
03
Cybersecurity Consulting
We review systems the way an attacker would look at them and the way an engineer has to fix them. That means threat modelling at the design stage, reviewing code and configuration for the mistakes that actually get exploited, and writing remediation plans that a development team can act on in priority order. Findings are explained in plain terms with the evidence behind them.
Typical engagements
- Security review of a mobile application and the API behind it
- Cloud account and infrastructure configuration audit
- Threat modelling for a new product before the architecture is fixed
- Secure development guidance for an in-house team
What you receive
- A findings report ranked by severity, with reproduction steps and evidence
- A remediation plan ordered by risk and effort
- A follow-up review to confirm that fixes are in place
04
Software & System Architecture
Architecture is the set of decisions that are expensive to change later. We help teams make those decisions deliberately: data models, service boundaries, API contracts, synchronisation and offline behaviour for mobile clients, and the trade-offs between simplicity, cost and scale. For existing systems we document what is there, identify where it is straining, and propose a path that can be taken in stages.
Typical engagements
- Architecture design for a new product or platform
- Review of an existing system that has become slow to change or unreliable
- API design for mobile clients, including offline and sync behaviour
- Technical due diligence on a codebase before an acquisition or investment
What you receive
- Architecture documents with diagrams and the reasoning behind each decision
- A written assessment of the current system, where one exists
- A staged roadmap that can be implemented by your team or ours
05
Cloud Migration & Infrastructure
We plan and carry out migrations from on-premises systems or between cloud providers, and we set up the infrastructure that new products run on. Everything is defined as code so that environments can be reproduced and audited. Once a system is running, we review cost, reliability and security on a regular basis and recommend changes that are worth their effort.
Typical engagements
- Migrating an application and its data from on-premises servers to a cloud provider
- Setting up infrastructure as code, environments and deployment pipelines for a new product
- A cost and reliability review of an existing cloud account
- Designing backup, recovery and monitoring for a production system
What you receive
- A migration plan with cut-over steps, rollback points and a testing approach
- Infrastructure defined as code in a repository you own
- Runbooks and monitoring so that your team can operate the system
06
IT Strategy & Technology Advisory
Technology decisions are often made under time pressure with incomplete information. We provide an independent engineering view: whether to build or buy, which platform or vendor fits the requirements, how to sequence a roadmap, and where the real risks are. We have no reseller agreements, so the recommendation is the one we would follow ourselves.
Typical engagements
- Build-versus-buy analysis for a planned capability
- Vendor and platform evaluation against written requirements
- A technology roadmap for the next one to three years
- Ongoing advisory for leadership teams without a technical lead in-house
What you receive
- A written recommendation with the options considered and the reasons for the choice
- Evaluation criteria and scoring you can reuse for future decisions
- A roadmap with milestones, dependencies and estimated effort
